• The house is removed and raised from the existing foundation and blocked safely in its current location.

• The old foundation is removed and recycled.

• The area is excavated and secured with a 6-foot fence.

• The house is lowered onto the newly constructed basement.

• At this point your plumber has completed rough-ins.

Canadian Basements is not responsible for any damage caused to belongings or the interior of the home during the lifting process; therefore you may want to check with your insurance provider on contents insurance.

I have an attached garage—does it get lifted as well?

Will my home be damaged during the lifting/replacement?

Sometimes cracks may occur on drywalled walls, especially over doorways. There shouldn't be more than normal settling of a new house would cause. Plaster houses may show more cracks because the new foundation will not be exactly the same as the old one and adjustment may cause cracks. No structural damage will occur as a result of the move.
